KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos III Doson, 229-221 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 17.02 g, 12 h), Amphipolis, circa 227-225. Head of Poseidon to right, wearing wreath of seaweed. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΓΟΝΟΥ Apollo seated to left on prow, holding bow in his right hand; below, two monograms. SNG Alpha Bank 1048. An attractive example with a bold head of Poseidon. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
