KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.68 g, 12 h), the obverse die signed by Dan..., Rhodes, circa 201-190. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress; on the lip, signature ΔAN. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram above rose; below throne, PO. Price 2514. Rare. A bold and impressive example with light toning. Light doubling on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
