KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8.51 g, 12 h), Alexandreia Troas, circa 297/6-282/1. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟY Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with lion's head; in inner left field, monogram of AP above bee; in exergue, monogram. Thompson 147. Müller 429. Lustrous and attractive. Struck from somewhat worn dies and with some marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
