KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.16 g, 11 h), Lampsakos, circa 297/6-282/1. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in right hand and leaning with left arm on shield; behind, transverse spear; to inner left, monogram of HP; to outer left, aphlaston. Müller 356. Thompson 48. A beautifully toned example of excellent style and struck in high relief. Tiny scrape on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
